Surveys for subsea pipelines and cables

Power Potential One carries out engineering surveys and investigations for the routing and laying of subsea pipelines and cables, as well as studies of the continental shelf.

We gather the data that designers, contractors and operators need to select a safe route, assess seabed conditions and plan installation — from the first desktop study to the as-laid survey — and we support the laying of subsea cables along the approved route.

Subsea cable laying

We lay subsea power and communication cables and take the work from route engineering to the final burial survey.

  1. 01

    Cable route engineering

Route selection on the survey data: seabed conditions, slopes, obstructions and existing assets along the corridor.

  2. 02

    Lay and burial

Cable laying along the approved route with burial into the seabed where the soil and the project require protection.

  3. 03

    Crossings and protection

Crossings of existing pipelines and cables, and protection of the cable where it cannot be buried.

  4. 04

    As-laid and burial surveys

Survey of the cable position and burial depth after installation, delivered as as-laid records.

05 — Continental shelfSeabed · geology · geohazards

Continental shelf investigation

On the continental shelf we map the seabed and its shallow geology over wider areas: water depth and relief, sediment types, rock outcrops and geohazards such as steep slopes, mobile sediments and shallow gas. The results support pipeline and cable routes, offshore platforms, terminals and other marine infrastructure.
